SonicWALL Mandates Two Factor Authentication or MFA

SonicWall is an American cybersecurity company that sells a range of Internet appliances primarily directed at content control and network security. These include devices providing services for network firewalls, unified threat management (UTM), virtual private networks (VPNs), virtual firewalls, SD-WAN, cloud security and anti-spam for email. Recently SonicWALL has announced the implementation of a mandatory requirement for Two Factor Authentication (2FA) or MFA for all user accounts. They have asked all SonicWALL users to enable 2FA or MFA before 4th Nov, 2024. After this date, SonicWall will implement a mandatory MFA for all user accounts.

Follow the steps mentioned in this article to enable 2FA or MFA on your SonicWALL’s account.

Step2: Login
Login to your SonicWALL’s account using email ID and password.

Step3: Enable 2FA
Navigate to “My Account” and then enable Two Factor Authentication by moving the toggle. as shown below in the image.

Step4: Authenticator
Select the authentication method you want to use. You could use one time password (OTP) over Email or authenticator apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Cisco DUO.

Step5: Install App
Install the app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Cisco DUO) on your mobile to configure authenticator.

Step6: Configure Authenticator
Scan the QR code shown on the SonicWALL portal just after selecting authenticator APP i.e. Microsoft Authenticator and put the code to verify.

As soon as the you will click “Confirm” the authenticator App will be configured for your SonicWALL’s account and you could use 2FA to login to your account.
