Password Change Of Cisco ASA FirePower or SFR Module

Mode: CLI (Command Line Interface)
Description: In this article, we will discuss how to change the password of Cisco Firepower or the SFR module of Cisco ASA. If you are logging in for the first time then use the default username and password of Cisco Firepower to login.

To change the password for the Cisco ASA FirePower or SFR module follow the steps mentioned below.

Step1: SSH Firewall
SSH onto Cisco ASA Firewall.

SSH 192.168

Step2: Login
Login into the Cisco ASA using username and password of Cisco Firewall.

login as: admin
WARNING!

Step3: Access SFR Module
Access the SFR module of Cisco ASA.

edledge-asa# session sfr console 
Opening console session with module sfr.
Connected to module sfr. Escape character sequence is 'CTRL-^X'.

edledge-sfr login: admin
Password: edledge
Last login: Fri Oct 22 11:02:15 UTC 2021 from 10.1.2.3

Step4: Change Password
Change the password and set the new password.

> configure password 
Enter current password: edledge
Enter new password: edledge.com
Confirm new password: edledge.com

Password Update successful.

Password of the Cisco Firepower is changed successfully. If this is a new device then use the default password of the firepower as “Enter current password” and set the new password as per you.
